Cancer Awareness Session – Using Health Apps to Track Habits & Prevent Cancer"

  In an effort to raise awareness about cancer prevention, especially among young girls,  series of classroom-based sessions were conducted across all undergraduate classes. The unique angle of this session was the emphasis on digital wellness —showing students how they can leverage technology to monitor and improve their health habits. The session highlighted how mobile applications related to fitness, diet tracking, hydration reminders, menstrual health, and stress management can help individuals maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Apps like MyFitnessPal, HealthifyMe, WaterMinder, Headspace, and Google Fit were introduced and demonstrated. Students learned how these tools can track daily food intake, calorie burn, physical activity, sleep patterns, and more. By encouraging the use of accessible and easy-to-use digital platforms, the session empowered students to take control of their well-being in a practical and sustainable way.
