Session on designing Chatbot using templates

January 2022

A session was conducted by the Commit Club to teach the basics of chatbot creation. The participants learned what a chatbot is, what purpose it serves, how it was created – using tools such as smatbot.com and landbot.io.

The key take-aways were on how to design a chatbot for the specific and characteristic requirements of a website or application; to consider the range of audience – their probable queries and needs for assistance and prominently about how to present one’s services in a legible way, to their customers. Chatbots are based on Artificial Intelligence, which is a booming branch of technology that will become very crucial in every computer science field in future.

The session was helpful in creating awareness on what chatbots are and how efficiently they can be designed, without using complex coding or coding at all. The tools employed in the workshop are user-friendly and simple to understand. These tips would be helpful to students who run businesses online, and would help in expansion of their enterprises through active customer/audience engagement.

Outcome:

Students were able to create chatbots of their own

Also they incorporated the chatbot in the website created by them which they learnt from the previous session.
